Take the LEAD - Youth Leadership Conference

April 18, 2026

The Youth Leadership Conference provided students with a meaningful experience aimed at fostering youth leadership and civic engagement. As part of the Take the LEAD program, students had diligently worked on their Community Action Projects and presentations, which were showcased during the conference.

The morning segment was structured with students split into two groups: one group attended a dynamic public speaking workshop led by Kiwanis member Timothy Timpson, while the other presented their Community Action Projects (CAP) in the Council Chamber at Toronto City Hall. Students also heard an inspiring address from guest speaker Klaudia Zinaty, CEO and Founder of the Women Empowerment Awards and Foundation, on personal branding and the importance of putting your best foot forward.

Following a lunch break, the groups switched. Students who had presented in the morning participated in an engaging debate workshop led by Branksome Hall students Victoria Luo and Athena Gao, while the other group had the opportunity to present their CAP projects in the Council Chamber.

This immersive experience also included exploration of City Hall and interactive educational activities. Altogether, the day provided students with valuable opportunities to strengthen their leadership skills, deepen their understanding of government processes, and make meaningful contributions to their communities.
